If you are anything like me, you have ADHD. Which is also known as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Now, the thing is, ADHD looks different for everyone. Some people have the more stereotypically kind, which involves the fidgeting and inability to stay still. Whereas others, like me, have the kind which makes your mind unable to stay still. The more inattentive type than hyperactive kind.
With ADHD, there is a sort of superpower going on. The brain works differently than those without ADHD, or as I lovingly (and derogatorily) call neurotypicals. Get it? Because their “neuro’s” are typical. Bah! Whatever.
Still, the brain works differently. There are different rules and ways it runs. Which can result in unique works.
Now, I have done us a favor and found an article written by Kate Kelly and peer reviewed by Stephanie Moulton Sarkis published on Understood that provides some information on ADHD and creativity.
Hear a little of what Kelly has to say:
People with ADHD are often risk-takers. Pursuing a creative career requires putting yourself out there and facing possible rejection or career failure. In other words, you have to take risks.
While this article is not very long, it does provide links and sources to give even more information for those who are interested.
Frankly, I am really caught on the final section detailing cultivating creativity in people with ADHD:
Even when people with ADHD are highly creative, ADHD challenges can make it hard to translate ideas into reality. People with ADHD often struggle with planning, managing time, and following through on tasks.
I find the idea process very easy and fun, but the following through is extremely difficult for me. So seeing information on this is great.

Additionally, the website seems to provide many sources of information regarding ADHD and Dyslexia specifically. So I do recommend you check it out!
